1.) Floss Every Day

The bristles can’t get between your teeth or easily clean your gumline, but flossing can! Doing it at least once a day can improve your gum health, so adding it to your routine is beneficial for you.

4.) Don’t Use or Chew Tobacco
This unhealthy habit isn’t the best for your smile. According to recent research, it can weaken your body’s ability to fight off infections and promote the growth of bacteria. Smoking has even been associated with gum disease, so avoiding using tobacco products will be beneficial for your oral health.
5.) Have Routine Visits with Your Periodontist
One of the best ways to keep your gums and the rest of your mouth healthy is by consistent checkups. These appointments with your periodontist give you the chance to ensure that plaque and tartar don’t pose any risks to you. They will be able to catch the early signs of gum disease, oral cancer, and other oral health issues, so you can get the treatment you need before they start to cause some serious harm.
